D'Ireys So...where did you get that business name?As the story goes, the owner's surname, IRISH, finds its early origins in a family from the province of IREYS, circa 900 AD, located in present day France.The greater significance of choosing D'Ireys for our business name was to emphasize a perceived importance of historical and cultural roots in our present understanding of who we are. It is regretful when our personal heritage is exchanged for a shallow image of short lived, popular culture. We can choose to surround ourselves with lots of things to fill lots of space OR make an investment in our surroundings that speaks clearly of our heart and heritage...what was given to us and what we can pass on.
D'Ireys Cabinetmakers have been in business since 1984. We began doing finish carpentry and remodeling and moved into cabinetmaking and design with the aim of integrating cabinetry, finish carpentry, furniture and other interior details into a unified concept. The subcontracts are often independent of one another leaving the eventual interface left to a "fix" after the fact. The solution to this independence is to make certain the different elements of an interior interface as little as possible though that leaves the interior lacking congruity. When all the details are part of an overall, unifying design, the interior environment conveys that sense of unity.
